"No imminent threat" is such a joke. How about these "not imminent" major Iranian-backed attacks?

1983 Beirut Attacks (Lebanon)

April 18, 1983: Iran-backed Islamic Jihad (early Hezbollah front) suicide car bombing of the U.S. Embassy killed 63 people, including 17 Americans.
October 23, 1983: Hezbollah truck bomb on the U.S. Marine barracks killed 241 U.S. service members (220 Marines + 21 others)—the deadliest single-day loss for U.S. Marines since Iwo Jima. A near-simultaneous attack hit the French barracks (58 killed). U.S. officials and courts have long held Iran responsible for directing and supporting Hezbollah.

June 25, 1996: Khobar Towers Bombing (Saudi Arabia)

A truck bomb (equivalent to ~20,000 lbs TNT) destroyed the U.S. Air Force housing complex in Dhahran. It killed 19 U.S. airmen and wounded nearly 500 (including Saudis and others). Even during lulls, the infrastructure (weapons transfers, training camps, funding) remains—enabling rapid reactivation, as seen post-Oct 7. Federal courts have held Iran liable in multiple cases (Khobar, Beirut).

This history and ongoing capability show why claims of "no imminent threat" are contradicted by the facts: Iran and its network retain the intent and means to strike U.S. forces, allies, and interests at a time of its choosing.
