First thing that I noticed too. Seems to be a bit of bigotry here as my understanding is that the Gender Fluid amongst us are to be referred to in the plural...so the correct pronoun here is THEM.
I would hope the writer and editor are DISCIPLINED for this transgression and if it happens again, Pam Bondi finally finds something to do with her time regarding the attitude of these people.
