IMHO DHS should never have been created in the first place. DHS was created as a knee jerk reaction to 911 when many cried for more safety, more overwatch and that's exactly what they got, a new security organ which loves to watch American citizens.

America had plenty of security systems it's just that it was distracted and lazy, ineffectual and smug.

DHS can go away as far as I'm concerned as it never should have been created in the first place.
