Been there a number of times as I used to own property in Pismo. When I was last there, it was still very pristine in the areas separating the BX facilities and between the different parts around the cantonment areas. Funny the BX had limited hours on the weekends. Guess everyone goes to Lompoc, Santa Maria, Buellton, Guadalupe, or even Santa Barbara or LA.

Sometimes we would go to Avila or Pirate's Cove and even to Pismo. The one beach you can drive on right to the surf line.
