Back in the day I was involved in an effort to forensically examine the circuit artwork on microprocessor and memory chips.

It was amazing what was found embedded at the actual circuit silicone circuit level of the chips.

At least one major theft of US defense tech can be attributed to malware embedded at the circuit level of a chip by the Chinese. .

I guess we don’t have enough homegrown technology that we have to depend on others, but why would we depend on a known enemy.? Maybe we could encode some of the stuff we send to them. Or better yet, maybe we should just not do any business with them & move them out of ANY business we are currently doing with them. They obviously can’t be trusted.
