I have eaten insects prepared these ways and it is a novelty, not something I expect would catch on. I believe it is important to try things out to know what future fallbacks are tolerable or even tasty.

Anyone who cares about emergency survival should be doing this safely with insects and plants before the circumstance arises.

I’ve eaten chocolate covered ants before.

You, sir, think things through. While I won’t make a habit of it having the knowledge of which insects are edible is not a bad thing at all.

I’ve had Mexican style cricket tacos and quite honestly they weren’t awful. I wouldn’t order them off a menu, though. One of my wife’s co workers brought them so I ate two out of politeness.

The tequila did come in handy for washing them down.

No need to try things as, if you get hungry enough, anything become ambrosia.
