I would hope that Ruger comes out ahead on this and ceases to be publicly traded, because if they’re taken over by Beretta, that would mean the Marlin, and the assets of the now defunct Anderson Manufacturing go with it.
Ian McCollum over at Forgotten Weapons did a video on the development of the Mini-14 rifle, in that video he made in interesting comment that Ruger is more of a casting company, and does more than just guns. Their casting and heat treatment is supposed to be exceptional, it would be a shame to possibly lose that if acquired by Beretta. No hate against Beretta, it would just be nice if a major American gun manufacturer wasn’t purchase by a foreign buyer (looking at you Colt, and Smith and Wesson).
That is true. Ruger casts a lot of golf club heads, and also transmission casings. They became very good at casting.
