🇺🇸🇮🇷 THIS IS A HISTORIC MOMENT.

Exiled Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi says he has accepted the responsibility to lead a transition for Iran once the Islamic regime is removed.

“The Iranian people have called on me to lead the transition after the regime is gone. I have accepted that responsibility.”

He says the goal is an orderly transition, national stability, and letting Iranians decide their future through the ballot box.

For millions of Iranians who have waited decades for this possibility… this is emotional.

I think that Pahlavi is the one Trump is hoping for, but he is waiting for the Iranian People to declare it.

Maybe they want someone that doesn’t want to kill them. Maybe the same thing Trump wants.

Reza is the people’s choice.

Yes, of dissents that have lived Iran for decades.

The people of Iran consider us their mortal enemies.

We've ripped apart their infrastructure and dropped a bomb that killed 168 elementary age girls.

Shia Muslims hate us for killing their Ayatollah.

Why would anyone think the Iranian people don't hate us more than the existing government?

Too weird for me. Guess I just don't understand the Iranian people.

They rose up in revolt and forced the Shah out, along with his ally, the Great Satan America.

Now they seem to have a whole new way of thinking, allying with the US against thier own government. What a turnabout ---weren't they burning flags and throwing rocks at us, mortal enemies until death, just a few months ago?

Wasn't them, you say, it was those radical Shiite Arab Invaders! Real Iranians are really more moderate than that --- Not Shiite, not Sunni, but Persian (whatever that is).

But look at the clip --- Reza is wearing a suit and tie, and speaking English! A hereditary Mpnarch, taking over for another hereditary Monarch, talking about the power of the popular vote?

Will this go over in Tehran? Not likely, IMHO. At least not for long. They did a complete 180 on the Shah, then on the Ayatolla, and they'll turn back on us again, sooner than anyone thinks. I can't trust anything they say.

He accepted the responsibility to lead the Iran transition... Who offered it to him? You can’t get a call from the “Iranian people”.

I wouldn’t mind seeing it work. Anything is better than the current Islamic regime.

A couple of Iranian talking heads today said that he will be murdered if he goes back.

We’ll see. I pray that it works out for the people there.

It is thought that the CIA got the 1979 revolution against the Shah going.

It sounds nice. I wish it could be so.

Nearly 50 years ago I was in Houston at the old Exxon Building for training. Just a block or two south was the Dresser Tower, just next to Gulf Freeway. The Iranian consulate was there. The Iranian students were marching around the building in protest, of what I was never quite sure then came the revolution and the Ayatollah of rock and rolla. The world has been more of a mess than usual ever since. It would be really nice to see the vision this fellow paints come true for a change.

What a terrible time for the Iranian people these last 5 decades but they got what they wanted back then I suppose. Those students that rioted for change are now old men like me. I hope they hated what they got for their children, that their children hate it and all remember it very well.

A good friend of mine and mentor at Exxon would say: “Having spent some considerable time in the area formerly called Persia, I am convinced beyond doubt that they are possessing of genes that predispose them to madness.”

Reform and peace may be a long shot but it is worth a shot.

We would be criminally stupid to ever put Iran into another Tyrant's dominance. Such a one would immediately institute his own SAVAK, as the deposed one had, or the IIRG is. And we would be worse off, in the end. Persians are far better educated and freedom-minded that all those descendants and allies proceeding from Esau's hateful bitterness of Jacob's devious avarice of the land he acquired and deeded by Isaac.

I believe that Persians can institute and live as has their populace immigrated to the US after Shah's dethronement. Thet were very prevalent among our high-tech customers and manufacturers along the West Coast -- a mindset quite different than Arabs and Iraquis.

But the Muzzies must be controlled, suppressed, and hopefully eliminated not by violent terrorism, but by the force of ideas and motivation through the reign of individual freedoms as incorporated in out Constitution, in order for a true republic to stand firm. No more Reza Pahlavis, no Khomenis.
