The real problem is, since the end of WWII, nobody has the stomach to actually brutally crush an opponent and grab final victory. Politicians get weak-kneed and put pressure on countries to let up, leaving a kernel of the underlying problem to regerminate and thrive. This happened in Korea, Viet Nam, Gulf War, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Gaza, and Iran this past summer. Israel and the US should strive for total annihilation and accept no half measures and promises of future behavior.

“The real problem is, since the end of WWII, nobody has the stomach to actually brutally crush an opponent and grab final victory. “

That’s because 24-hour media coverage and YouTube videos would create such a wave of world distress that plenty of pressure would be put on Israel from every imaginable source. The people who produce that stress don’t know about or care about the millions of provocations Ireal has suffered. They only know they saw a six-minute video of people losing arms and legs. And they want it to stop! They want it to stop now! You can’t tell them that if the carnage doesn’t continue then those same people being crushed will be back doing the same sorts of things to Israelis tomorrow. They can’t see that. They don’t want to know about that. They just want what they’re seeing to end. Tomorrow will take care of itself.
