Interesting .... of all the recipes I looked at, none were ‘cooked’. I’d have to leave out the celery seeds - can’t stand them. Mom still has her well-worn pages-falling-out Betty Crocker cookbook. She got it for a wedding present & since she didn’t know how to cook, that was what she went by for years.

Here is the recipe , its pretty simple. I just scribbled it down after he won. And with 4 people making their own potato salad in the kitchen I wasn’t paying attention to quantities. It’s just what he told me.
Peeled boiled russet chunks til just tender. Dressing I don’t have a quantity, but its ration 2-1 mayo to sour cream
Salt, pepper, chopped fine sweet onion to taste
Fresh parsley chopped to taste. Dressing enough to cover potatoes but lightly. Even the people who made their own voted for his.
We are getting that windstorm and snow even that went through Wisconsin. Not too bad and the snow is not sticking.

I have always said that if you can read, you can cook!

My mom used to tell me that I cooked like a scientist. She’s right. I do, because I used to do research, where everything you did was measured. Old habits die hard. Most of the time, I do measure, even if it’s just in my hand.
