I remember some trash talk about the rings. Guys hoping, if they went down, they might be found by a harem and hid out by a desert well, kind of like Moses? Pass the rings out to the girls? Kind of like the WW II jabber in Europe, when guys were told if they went down and the French Resistance found them they’d hide them in cat houses, to get them home?
