I remember the “word” phone numbers.
Ours was “shady side 1” or 741, and my grandmother’s was “tuxedo 6” or 886.
And there was a famous local ad for an aluminum siding company, complete with a jingle, that anybody that grew up in Cleveland, Ohio in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s would remember - Garfield 1-2323. 421-2323.
