DOGE showed up to USAID and finished their forensic work before anyone knew what they were really up. When they were done it was too late to stop them. Then a year later the fraud investigations started.
These things take time to come together so they survive court challenges and don't fall apart in court. This announcement means indictments, or plea bargains, are on their way.
Plea bargains mean getting lots of juicy info.
I tell myself that as well, to date though we have heard of no such singing but have seen many walk away with the worst thing happening was they lost a job.
I hold out hope but, in this area, things have not gone well so far.
