Gen X here. I can get a decent Margeaux from frogland for $35. And a really good Priorat from degoland for $20.

The reason Cali wines are so expensive now is because Newscum has inflicted ridiculous opex on the wineries and agriculture.

Also GenX: I prefer beer and spirits. Wine is stupidly expensive per ounce, especially in bars and restaurants. Beer is a better value and tastes better to me.
