He got needlessly killed.
It *IS* a tragedy.
A tragedy needs to be beyond the control of the victim. In this case the unfortunate trooper placed himself in a well known hazardous position. It is a very gut wrenching and heart breaking outcome. But one that will be repeated again and again until traffic stops are performed in a safe manner.
40% of job related deaths for police are traffic related. Most them involving traffic stops. 34 deaths in 2024.
