Amy Conehead is what she is, a disappointment to conservatives, who wanted more that someone a little better than RBG on the court. She represents what is wrong with judges coming from academic positions at ABA law school, but who consistently miss the big picture, and so resort to cutesy opinions.

AJ Barrett has been in the majority on multiple landmark decisions:

Free exercise of religion (Fulton v. City of Philadelphia, 2021)

And religious schools eligible for state funding (Carson v. Makin, 2022)...

And gun rights (NY State Rifle & Pistol Assoc. v. Bruen, 2022)...

And affirmative action (Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard/UNC, 2023)...

And Chevron deference (Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, 2024)...

And presidential immunity (Trump v. United States, 2024)...

Given the liberals only appoint judges who will always vote for the ideology my opinion has changed over the years.

Conservative Judges need to be as dogmatically aligned to the conservative cause as liberals are to liberal causes; otherwise, liberals will absolutely own the court. Conservative judges must be reliable (as in 100%) aligned to rule conservatively

Thanks for listing out some of the cases where she has been on the majority.

Just in general , all three of Trump’s Supreme Court nominees are considered too liberal for many people here on Free Republic . I understand criticism of rulings on individual cases. But it’s good to know what the judge’s overall records are.

She is hardly another Ruth Bader Ginsburg, but to listen to some people, you’d swear that that’s what she is. You should look at the overall record. Consider how Ginsburg would have ruled on some of these cases, and how that contrasts with how Barrett ruled.
