It always stuns me how leftists could be allies of Islam.
Because leftists and liberal types are all about rights for homosexuals , transgender types, rights for women as espoused by abortion rights, etc. Islam opposes all of these rights for various groups of people and issues whom the leftists support.

That Islam doesn’t set off alarm bells in the leftist brain is proof that they don’t care at all about the host of weirdo’s and perverts they have in their “coalition “. The Left don’t want to really protect anyone , they want power. Any group they can get to help them tear down Western Culture is welcome.
