I didn't really know who Patrick Stewart was at the time. I though he was a throw-away character. I kept waiting for the old bald guy to be killed off so the young, virile First Officer (Jonathon Frakes) take command. Who knew?
"Babylon 5: Our last, best hope for decent Science Fiction on TV." That and Stargate: SG1.
IMO, Farscape was a better show than either one of those.
The real crime, IMO, was FOX's gross mishandling of Firefly.
I have a LOT of Farscape DVD’s on my shelf.
The thing about Farscape is that it was pure sci-fi without trying to be either political or “relevant”. People panned it because “Pilot” was a Henson puppet but it was good sci-fi. Yes, as a former Boeing employee (and Physics major) I could nitpick about some of the aerospace aspects of the earliest episodes, but once you got into season 2 those issues were no longer relevant.
It was a good show and deserved better.
