Exactly right. Even Stalin didn’t mind stealing from the Bible when it suited him:

In the USSR, work is a duty and a matter of honor for every able-bodied citizen, in accordance with the principle: “He who does not work, neither shall he eat.”

That’s from Article 12 of the 1936 USSR constitution. It paraphrases 2 Thessalonians 3:10. Take note that communist states have government-imposed atheism.

Slightly off topic, but I did want to mention that the 1936 USSR constitution is what the United Nations charter is based on.
