Americans are the ones who paid the tariffs in the form of /increased cost of goods. Foreigners didn't pay a dime.

It looks like either the importers or the foreigners paid from 6 to 16 percent of the tariffs. Although Peter Schiff said that would eventually fade away to 100% on the consumer if the tariffs continued. So it is confirmed that tariffs are just a tax on US citizens as you imply.

Ouch. Several studies have shown the cost to the average American was >$1,000 in 2025. That might be acceptable, if my income tax would have gone down, but I just got the smallest tax refund in 20+ years this year.
