I will disagree with you on that. I’ve seen the proof.
But I respect your right to do what you want with your own medical choices.

I am sure you have seen recovery by a person or persons in clinical trial. The problem is that you may get a placebo and forgo your other treatment options. And, if the trail drug or procedure has already proven effective they are not allowed ethically to put it in a trial where persons are blind treated with the drug or a placebo which is the core of all clinical trials.
If you want the drug or treatment the clinical trial offers, you can usually get it even if it is not approved by your carrier. And if you think it has promise and you go to clinical trial you give up a 50% or greater chance of getting the drug or treatment (because you may get nothing) for not having to pay. Not a good investment in your life.
