How many Democrats have been railroaded in a 92% to 5% Republican jurisdiction spending years in prison for misdemeanors? How many were denied 8th amendment bail and spent more time in prison awaiting trial than the maximum sentence could have been if they were convicted of what they were charged with?
How many partisan Republicans have tried to assassinate Democrat politicians? (and don't claim that state senator in Minnesota - that guy was a lunatic and claimed to be acting at the behest of Tim Walz).
When is the last time Republicans tried to jail someone over a meme while giving a partisan on their side a free pass for that exact same meme when directed at Democrats?
When is the last time a Republican president conspired with members of his administration to concoct a lie about a a Democrat candidate for president and then use that lie as a basis to run a counterintelligence operation against his campaign?....then keep the charade going for 2 full years after that Democrat was sworn in?
Oh but Democrats would never violate democratic norms, federal law, any and all standards of decency, etc etc :rolleyes:
Michael Tomasky is an old time communist. He’s been around forever. To assert that the Democrats are the good guys simply means he wants them to impose one party communist rule and throw all of MAGA into a gulag.
The book “Public Opinion” by Walter Lippmann explored this very issue. We all see the world through our own special filter. Our filter is very narrow and formed by prejudice and our peculiar view of what goes on. None of us have the bandwidth to see the whole picture from a dispassionate viewpoint.
The thing is we need to remain open to new evidence that challenges the picture we hold. Obviously, the guy referenced in this article is incapable of doing that. This too was addressed in Lippmann’s book. Even though it was written in the early 1920’s it remains relevant as it addresses the reasons for idiotic impasses we see in politics today. The problem is made worse today because the education system has been polarized since the hippies replaced the WWII generation teaching in schools starting in the late 60’s.

Some of his ideas are actually pretty good, but there is little chance the current set of Democrats will act on them. They don’t care about the meat-packer monopoly, the price of insulin, or Ticketmaster’s price gouging. It’s all about the Palestinians and pronouns.
Democrats do not need voters. They just need votes.

I’m old enough to remember Hubert Humphrey, who was probably the last of the old time Democrats and of course JFK. There is no resemblance whatsoever to today’s Democrats who have openly embraced socialism if not Marxism and would seek to have our country governed by a uniparty little different than East Germany
They think they are the hero’s in the drama. That’s their fundamental identity. It’s what allows them to be crazy.
The party of slavery, the ku klux klan, Jim Crow, the Trail of Tears, abortion, infanticide, open borders, Marxism, election fraud, opposition to voter i.d., and the Russian Dossier is definitely NOT a party of good intentions,
But even if it were, the Road to Hell is paved with good intentions,
And, with all those bad intentions, a party like that is an Express Highway to Hell.
Being a Communist, Comrade Tomasky instinctively mouths the words “working class”. How long has it been since Democrats did anything ut sell out the working class, and do its damnedest to destroy it?
Which party just loves globalization which hollowed out the US industrial base deliberately?
Which party opened the borders to millions of unskilled laborers, thus undercutting wages and taking jobs from the would-be US “working class”?
Which party engineers mass civil unrest and insurrection to prevent DHS from capturing and deporting criminal illegal aliens?
Which party causes billions of dollars in borrowed funds to be stolen by fraud from US citizens via unmanaged government handout programs that shouldn’t exist?
Which party refuses to allow election integrity so it can remain in power?
To help the working class, Tomasky should advise the Dems to repudiate their entire program and disband.
Just another way to say: "How can we fool them today."
