I thought cartels, but I didn’t think they’d bother being involved with something so public or complex.

I’m thinking it’s just your every day illegal aliens, looking for some $$$. Although it is rather surprising how nobody can figure it out. I never thought the illegals would be that bright.

If it turns out to be illegals, I look forward to watching the mood of the country change lol.

This story always reminds me of the Nicholas Cage / Shirley MacLaine movie, “Guarding Tess”. An amateur kidnapping goes awry and the old woman runs out of air in a barn, somewhere. (Spoiler: In the movie, MacLaine is saved.)

I’m thinking the masked intruder is not a bumbling idiot. Nancy Guthrie is still missing. Her family doesn’t know if she is alive or dead. It appears the sheriff has exhausted all clues.
If Nancy Guthrie was abducted it is unlikely the masked intruder carried a 150 lb. woman down the road. So who helped him. How did they escape from the neighborhood? Car, silent EV, truck, horseback?
If the timeline is correct the intruder spent 41 minutes in Nancy Guthrie’s house. What was taken, what is missing. Was this an intruder looking for a thrill?
Sad, scary frustrating situation.
