Those “free” transportation systems - buses, subways, etc. will be immediately taken over by homeless who will use them as “shelters.”

Are you kidding? They already did that years ago. Especially the subways.

California definitely - homeless ride the “subway” system all day, you can board in most places without going through a gate and no one ever checks - and then exit in Santa Monica at night when the subway closes down. Repeat each and every day.
