Tapes containing the original, high-quality transmission of the Apollo 11 moon landing were wiped after being quietly shelved in an unmarked storage area by NASA.
While other recordings of the historic 1969 mission survived, the revelation that at least some moon landing video disappeared has fueled wild conspiracies that NASA has been covering up what astronauts saw or even that the whole mission was faked.
Now, the truth about these 'erased' tapes has been revealed by Tim Dodd, better known as the 'Everyday Astronaut' on YouTube, who said the lost footage was only a set of backup magnetic tapes containing the raw transmission from space.
Dodd explained that the backup tapes were considered by NASA to be less critical since all the essential data, video, and radio signals were successfully transmitted to Houston and broadcast live on TV.
The backup copies of Apollo 11's historic mission were mistakenly taped over when NASA reused older magnetic tapes due to a shortage of those specific film reels in the 1970s and 1980s.
Speaking on the Danny Jones Podcast, Dodd said no one at the time anticipated future technology would be able to upscale or enhance the resolution (upres) of the raw footage for better quality, which is now possible today.
However, NASA still possesses thousands of hours of data proving the first moon landing really took place, including lower-quality versions of telemetry data, audio, and video from Houston's recordings.
Dodd added that the space agency also still has shockingly clear 70 millimeter film from the cameras the Apollo astronauts used on the moon, a grade of film that is still used in IMAX movies 57 years later.

Since I am older and wiser than you all I can say is The ENTIRE WORLD WATCHED IT IN REAL TIME. Not one person ever thought or contemplated it was fake. That’s an absurdity. A perversion.

The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) has captured detailed images of the Apollo landing sites, showing the Lunar Modules, astronaut tracks, and other equipment.
Other lunar missions, such as India’s Chandrayaan-2 and South Korea’s Danuri, have also photographed landing sites, confirming the presence of Apollo hardware.
There’s no way anyone actually thinks that. I know they were flown into, we all saw it. The official story is bollocks. They were designed to take hits like that. There is so much wrong with this it’s not even funny. I’m assuming you are the type that can’t handle their world views being challenged? I’m not judging, I just find it incredibly naive. I was long enough in uniform to know my gov hates me, and especially those who control it.

Do you know that there were rooms in both Huntsville and Houston that were made up to look like the moon, as close as possible so that the astronauts could practice vehicle egress and ingress? They also practiced the use of tools, setting up equipment, and so on. Those facilities were also used to test the suitability of suit design under working conditions. These rooms were illuminated at the same light spectrum and intensity as the surface of the moon. This activity was filmed for evaluation. Astronauts spent many many hours doing simulations for everything scenario that could be imagined.

Launch azimuth 75 degrees relative to equator, went out through the center of the belts and passed through only its weak fringe. Passage took under twenty minutes, and they spacecraft WAS decent shielding. Radiation exposure equivalent to a singe chest X-ray. Brought the dosimeters back to prove it.
Having enough fuel to even leave Earth Orbit to go to the Moon and get back.
It had enough fuel. Have you ever seem a Saturn V? Its a LOT of fuel. The trip to the moon and back were low energy coats. The spacecraft fell into the gravity well of first the Moon and then the Earth.
Then there were the Space Suits and could they actually work on the Moon.
Yes, fully tested and validated for reliable functionality in harsh radiation and vacuum conditions years before the launches.
My favorite how could the Lunar module possible have blasted off the moon to get back in orbit to hook with Command module. The more you look that thing it is an absolutely flimsy piece of equipment.
It WAS a light piece of equipment, but not so flimsy. The gravity on the Moon is 1/6 that of Earth and their is no atmosphere to impede acceleration. It was discarded once the crew transferred to the command module.
In short, the only people who believe that the moon landings were faked are people with almost no knowledge of physics, the history of communications and flight hardware, and the preparations/testing prior to the design and construction of the hardware. I might also mention a severe mathematical deficiency.
Read up on it. You'd be proud and impressed.
Those machines were ordinary 1" video tape recorder/playback decks. In their prime they required constant maintenance. Obsolete, such machines will deteriorate with the passage of time. Those machines are rare, if to be found anywhere.
