AI is going to replace humans in cognitive tasks and, once the robotics get an inch better, in everything else.

We will become Eloi, sustained in a dreamworld by machines we no longer understand.

As long as we remain in control of the machines. Which may not be for very long.

We are heading toward a scenario we only saw in science fiction movies - a self sustaining AI civilization. A cataclysmic event could wipe out humanity. But machines could survive and keep civilization going.

And while all the citiots pee in their pantaloons I will stil be maintaining my own equipment, growing a garden, keeping the buildings warm, making and installing my own trim, making and installing my own cabinetry, maintaining my own electrical systems, maintaining my own water and waste system, re-arranging the snow, etc, etc, etc.

Thre is no such thing as artificial intelligence. There is dang little actual intelligence. There is even less common sense.
