The shooter is dead so punishment will be handled in a different realm.
People on FR continue to comment about “Canada” as if there is one mass mind shared by 35 million people, a mistake that is often made by all people around the world when they think about foreign countries. While they get the idea of different opinions in their own country, they completely lose the ability to distinguish different opinions held by residents of other countries. It’s the same in Canada of course, I often overhear conversations about what Americans think, as if all 350 million of you hold the same opinion.
I wonder what causes this flaw in logic?
From what I’ve seen so far, opinions about this disgusting event range all over the place in Canada. The problem is the same here as there, I would imagine — the average person has never met a trans-sexual nor have they encountered a case of a gender-confused individual in their everyday life, the total number of them is fairly small and the percentage who have mental problems seems exceedingly high. So when something like this is dumped into everybody’s consciousness, there is no real life experience to employ, and one resorts to a default religious or political viewpoint. I can’t even imagine wanting to change my gender so I can’t really put myself into the mind of somebody who does want to do that.
People say this will be “used” to further some political narrative — well possibly, but at the same time, it could be used to question the prevailing globalist narrative, and Canadian conservatives will be doing just that in days to come. It’s worth bringing up the question, if this was something globalists thought was a good idea, how about all their other “good ideas” ?? It might make a few people start to question the steady diet of globalist ideology many are being fed, because this part is very difficult to disguise as anything but wrong-headed evil.
No different than blaming everyone in a US state as being responsible for a dem being elected.
Even though there's a huge contingent of conservatives there.
