The 13 slave states chose to leave, and their reasons for doing so only needed to satisfy themselves, not the Canadians or Brits.Just as a point of fact, there were 15 slave states in 1860. Only 11 chose to secede.

Just as a point of fact, there were 15 slave states in 1860. Only 11 chose to secede.There were arguments about whether Kentucky or Missouri seceded. The arguments for Kentucky having seceded are pretty weak. The arguments for Missouri having seceded are very strong.
