She might have croaked, I cant imagine an elderly woman, already fragile(And left alone in that house with NO caregiver but thats a whole separate matter) being kidnapped in the middle of the night and still being alive I guess its possible but who knows
You’re right about the “she is very valuable to us” …..like they’re talking about an expensive Vincent Van Gogh painting…it implies that they are referring to an object. BUT they might be talking to a foreigner and wanted to convey that the mother was very important to them.
Later they say in the end, “because we want to celebrate with her” like she’s still alive.
I think the kidnappers aren’t fluent in english.
