“By default, your search experience is set on Safe Search: Strict. This keeps the results somewhat family friendly, although when searching for non-family friendly terms, you will still likely get results that are not family friendly. You can change the Safe Search setting using the top right menu.”
Not sure what the issue is. Can’t you turn add blocker off and back on again once you have finished searching for something? Just wondering.
“You can change the Safe Search setting using the top right menu.”
That’s the part I wondered about. Do they still filter anything if I deselect “Strict?”
If they want me to use their SE, they should tell me up front about its features, without requiring me to tweak my settings.
Tried Brave browser, got past the disable notice and put “Safe Search” in search bar. Got sent to their search engine rather than a site search. Tried “about.” No luck.
I just wanted to know what the options are, Safe Search or not, Safe Search or various modifications, degrees of safety? Do they exclude anything in a not Safe Search? I.e., substitute their judgment for mine?
Apparently I have to sign up to find out, which bodes ill.
