Moment bundle of gas-filled party balloons explode in fireball engulfing lift full of people who somehow escape with minor burns

This is the moment a bundle of party balloons explode in a fireball engulfing a lift full of people.

The gas-filled balloons suddenly caught fire and blew up just seconds after a man carrying them entered a lift inside a building at Amol Tower, in Goregaon, a suburb of Mumbai, India, on Monday night.

Himani Tapriya, a 21-year-old student, suffered burns on her arms, neck and stomach following the explosion.

Raju Kumar Mahato, 32, a delivery man who was couriering the balloons to the residential building for a birthday party, also suffered burns.

But the pair and a third person in the lift remarkably all escaped without major injury.

CCTV footage shows Ms Tapriya entering the lift with a suitcase before the delivery man walks in with the bundle of balloons.

Another man, dressed in black, enters moments before an inferno suddenly engulfs the lift.

They all run out of the lift before the door closes while the flames continue to rage.

Exactly.

Maybe the actual troll can tell us what happened to kiryandil ... since it brought it up.

When I was in college my room mates and I would fill weather balloons with stove gas (methane) and air and launch them at night from the apartment roof with a fuse attached. They’d drift over the city and then explode. Lotsa fun.

Because helium is not flammable.

It's also not cheap.

Wow. And not one person realized it was a terrible idea at the time. All that plastic pollution and wasted helium. Good grief.

In one of my college chemistry classes our instructor did a demonstration with a single small hydrogen filled balloon. The explosion sure got our attention.

Perhaps you can fill me in on what happened to your buddy Kiryandil?

Do you miss him? Maybe ask the UkeMod. Capeshe? (Yes, I know that’s misspelled.)

I remember shop/welding class.
The instructor filled a balloon with oxygen.. poof.
Then acetylene... poof.

Then, he took us all outside, after he filled with oxy/acetylene... He said RUN.. (we ran), then BOOOOOOOOM ✴️‼️

“Only in India would they be stupid enough to fill balloons with HYDROGEN.”

Natural gas is cheaper and for party balloons floats just fine, so does ammonia and well hydrogen too. I have launched hydrogen lift gas latex balloons with cheap burner phones that relay the images back down from 45,000+ feet up as long as the payload is under 12# total it’s a Part 101 free flight object. We have floated natural gas filled as well not as much lift but again you only can loft 12# in two six lb packages. A throw away phone is ounces not lbs so it’s under even the 4# launch anywhere limits.

--- "Kiryandil? Do you miss him? Maybe ask the UkeMod. Capeshe? (Yes, I know that's misspelled.)"

I came across your comment, and have some small insight. I suspect he became weary of the sniping from such as one who engaged so inanely with you/ So he took his "checkbook" and left.

This is actually a problem for the FR operators now, as it becomes more difficult to obtain donations. It's a good bet your recent interlocutor isn't among financial supporters of a site he uses all too often with snipes aplenty.

As one looks to current donations, one finds in the moment "119 donors (30 shown)." About 19 percent of the goal. Here's another jackass' general view about us:

"Obviously a good portion of FR are mindless sycophants."

It is an interesting problem as fund raising is become an issue. And understandable issue. Personally, I miss Kiryandil's comments. But would happily miss some others'. Never yours.

Best wishes.
