Between the White House ballroom currently under construction, and the proposed Arc du Trump currently in the planning stage, Washington DC could look entirely different when President Trump leaves office. The classic elements are genuinely inspiring.

PRESIDENT TRUMP – “This beautiful building will be, when complete, the much-anticipated White House Ballroom — The Greatest of its kind ever built! It is a rendering from the Treasury Building, directly across the street, and replaces the very small, dilapidated, and rebuilt many times, East Wing, with a magnificent New East Wing, consisting of a glorious Ballroom that has been asked for by Presidents for over 150 years. Being an identical height and scale, it is totally in keeping with our historic White House. This is the first rendering shown to the Public. If you notice, the North Wall is a replica of the North Facade of the White House, shown at the right-hand side of the picture. This space will serve our Country well for, hopefully, Centuries into the future! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP“
Who do you think will be the first “guest of honor” at a state dinner using the completed ballroom?
One of the proposals for the Washington DC “Arch”

Isn’t some leftist judge hearing a suit against the Trump Admin on the ballroom addition?
This will be a lovely proportional addition to the White House. Trump doe understand construction.
Thank you!
You are not welcome. 😁
“I like the ballroom. The arch is grotesque imho. We can do without all the faux gold”
I agree.
Regarding the beautiful features of the European structures, those features were chiseled out by hand by skilled craftsmen. Such features made today will be done by machinery. Is that the same thing?
Go back to the DU.
Ballroom threads expose posters with low grade TDS.
The ballroom has been needed for a very long time and should blend well with the existing White House. I am not a fan of the Arch. It is just not in character with the other monuments in Washington. It is fitting that there should some type of monument to our 250 year of independence, but not a Napoleonic arch.
It’s ok.
I know. 🙄
From the perspective of the tour bus stop, Marble Arch perfectly frames the McDonald's across the street.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation has sued to halt construction, but that is still in court. They are suing because they think a big series of reviews and approvals should be done. Typical leftist methods of preventing anything from happening. Trump is doing the construction using donations from major US companies and he believes that he should not have to go through the bureaucracy since taxpayer funding is not being used.
Agreed. There's purpose and beauty with the ballroom, but the arch is disgusting.
Reminiscent of the Arch of Constantine in Rome. Celebrates triumph. Imo America’s 250th birthday is worth celebrating.
It appears that the new construction follows the neoclassical style of the original White House.
He is not a large representative Americana affair is he?
The “Arc” is a bit much. Far too imperial.
Well put.
Not likely. I think it will be Xi Jinping.
You don’t need to impress your friends and allies. You need to impress your enemies and opponents.
Yes, but at least the apartments had indoor plumbing and as far as I know you could not smell the piss as you approached from a far distance.
