Well, I’ve always considered Washington, D.C. to be like an alien world.
I’ve become a big fan since my oldest moved to Silver Spring 15 years ago.
Unlike Miami (and a lot of other cities,) it’s well-designed with beautiful avenues and roadways and tons of scenic parks. Just 4 blocks from my kids’ home is Sligo Creek Park, which my wife and I love to walk. There are scenic walks like that throughout the metro area and an absence of billboards and other urban clutter.
Additionally, I’d give the city the nod over even New York in terms of the diversity of restaurant cuisines, and it’s much more affordable.
Years ago, when I was in college, I’d visit a friend of mine who went to American U. Back then it was a cesspool.
