I take it that AZ gas is piped from CA, where from?
Also, where is automotive diesel coming from?
Thanks — just curious in AZ.
I’ve been covering California’s gas crisis for months. The trucks. The refineries. The regulations. But I wasn’t ready for this. While researching where our fuel actually comes from, I found something buried in import data that made me want to throw my laptop through the window. The majority of California’s jet fuel in 2024? Imported from CHINA. Not Texas. Not Alaska. CHINA. We had 40 refineries in 1991. Now we’re down to 8. Phillips 66 in LA - GONE. Valero in Benicia - closing April 2026. Chevron - left California after 140 YEARS. And instead of fixing it, Sacramento signed Cap-and-Trade through 2046. They added 43 cents per gallon. They called our concerns “fear mongering.” Meanwhile: → USC predicts $8 gas by end of year → I’m telling you it’s going to be $10 → Travis Air Force Base needs jet fuel - from CHINA → China Lake Naval Station needs jet fuel - from CHINA → 90% of California cars still run on gas → Demand is only down 1% per year → Arizona gets 45% of their fuel from CA refineries → Nevada gets 88% from CA refineries We didn’t reduce emissions. We moved them to China and added a 6,000 mile diesel boat ride. They’re not saving the planet. They’re playing a shell game with YOUR money. $10 Gas is Coming. And It’s Coming From CHINA!!
