Another pol ignorant of - or willfully ignoring - the Constitution, re: Supremacy Clause:

“The Supremacy Clause is found in Article VI, Clause 2 of the U.S. Constitution and establishes that the Constitution, federal laws made pursuant to it, and treaties are the ‘supreme Law of the Land.’ This means that when there is a conflict between federal and state law, federal law takes precedence, and state courts are bound to follow it, regardless of any conflicting state constitution or law.”

I strongly suspect Seattle receives federal monies. Can’t wait to see what happens when/if the Seattle Police Department starts going after FEDERAL ICE agents.

In Los Angeles: “LAPD chief defies Newsom’s mask ban for federal immigration agents citing safety concerns”

Nope. It means the Constitution is the supreme law of the land. If a local or state law does not run afoul of the Constitution it does not have to mimic Federal law unless Congress passes a law to that effect. An example is the ADA. States may adopt their own version of the ADA but it can’t be less stringent than the federal law.

Immigration laws are established as being under the Executive branch in the Constitution so states can’t (not that they don’t try) pass their own immigration laws.
