Are you purchasing new disease free potatoes for planting or using leftovers from your prior year harvest?
Blackheart: Caused by oxygen deprivation, usually from flooded soil or improper storage, resulting in a black, tough, or hollow center.
Fusarium Dry Rot: A fungal infection that develops from earlier bruises, leading to brownish-black, shriveled cavities.

I’ve planted both, disease free (supposed) and left overs. No difference, both have black spots. But….on one occasion my potatoes flooded for a couple days! I didn’t like it and this spring plan to create more drainage on the downhill end.
