Huh. It’s a cake recipe.

(The guy who played Dumbledore in the first Harry Potter movies sang “McArthur Park,” a fairly huge hit, in which he laments the rain ruining his cake, and that he can never make it again because he lost the recipe.)

Good summary. It’s a stupid song sung with an overwhelming sense that the singer is incredibly important and that the song is incredibly profound.

Richard Harris did the original version in 1967 and made it to number 2 on the charts. Donna Summer had a cover in 1978 that hit number one.
