Thanks for your kind response. I see your point about Kash Patel’s statement. It’s ambiguous. If he meant that you can’t *legally* bring your firearm to a protest, then he’s wrong about that. But if he just meant that, well, you can’t bring your firearm into a skirmish with armed federal agents and be surprised when there are consequences of your choices, then he’s right.
It was stupid.
People in authority, and especially in law enforcement, should NEVER say what a leftist government offal can use as a precedent to render the 2A useless. Never.
What Noem said was nearly as bad (that Pretti didn't have ID and was therefore committing a crime). Is she saying CCW people must wear visible badges readable from 100ft or risk getting shot? Of course not, but with that offering a leftist DHS offal could claim precedent citing her statement.
I understand how real the pressure is to offer answers in a situation like this, but this is why we should expect special people in positions of power. Sometimes we have to be the adults in the room and say, "We don't know all the facts of the case yet. Let's wait until we have at least the body cam data fully reviewed."
