New bill proposal:
Anybody a judge releases, first day must stay at judges house to ensure decision was a good and safe one for community....that judge sees first hand any unfortunate consequences in his thinking. Will make room for better thinking judges!
Sigh. as usual media reports, left right or center, simplify issues in reporting of legal matters to the point that the reporting is false.
Reasonable bail is a right under the 8th Amendment. Pretrial detention is the exception, not the rule. You have to work real hard to find articles that describe all three defendants’ terms of release. They’re standard: surrender the passport, no leaving the state, stay away from the church, victims and witnesses. Supervision by the federal pretrial release officials. These are standard terms I would expect to see in a case like this. We can debate whether bond should also have been required, but the implication of this and many other articles that they were essentially just cut loose, is false
