“Buc-ee’s got its name from founder Arch “Beaver” Aplin III combining his childhood nickname, “Beaver,” with his Labrador dog’s name, “Buck,” to create “Buc-ee,” and then adding the plural “-s,” inspired by the popular cartoon “Bucky Beaver”.

It’s one of those odd names that has been fully accepted as is. Similar to “Ruth’s Chris Steak House”. That’s a lot
of ‘S’s, but it doesn’t seem to matter. Still popular.
Sean Hannity used to rave about that restaurant on the radio.
