He was put into custody by US Marshals. That means he was under arrest. He was charged with 18 felonies. He went before a judge and said he was not guilty. The judge then released him from custody until the trial. The DOJ told the judge they would need until May to go over all the evidence.

Did you expect an arrest, trial and sentencing all within a week or so?

Was he taken into custody by the Marshals? I do not recall that. I recall him surrendering himself and shortly released thereafter with no news since.
