I respectfully disagree with both of you, and this is probably the only think I disagree with Dr. Thomas Sowell over. The current problem of 2/3rds of black kids being raised in single parent homes is a spiritual problem. Thus, this one issue is something I'm not keen to pick govt policy (welfare state) as the cause. I think it has a spiritual cause, and that's the sexual revolution.

For whatever reason, whites have bitten into the sexual revolution hard (1/4th of white kids raised in single parent hones), but blacks have bitten into it harder.

I'm 100% with you on getting rid of or at least lowering the welfare state. But don't let our foot off the gas on dealing with the spiritual problem. We need to press harder on the 4th Great Awakening. That's the real solution.

Read Romans 1, beginning with verse 16 (not ashamed of the gospel), and the decline of culture if we don't win that battle (the rest of chapter 1). We're in the cultural decline.
