Popular right-wing influencer Nick Sortor had an $1,000 camera stolen by a group of protesters in Minneapolis on Sunday, footage shows.
In the clip posted to X by conservative journalist Cam Higby, Sortor, 27, is seen chasing one of the protesters to their vehicle as she attempts to flee with the device.
Sortor is then seen being dragged several feet, as he continues to hold onto the car door while the woman ultimately gets away.
Sortor, a popular provocateur known to cover politically charged protests, took to X to reshare the footage shortly thereafter, using it to complain about the current state of the Twin Cities.
'NOBODY bothered helping,' he wrote, billing the group of protesters as 'Somali thugs.'
Sortor was in town covering unrest seen since the fatal shooting of 37-year-old protester Renee Good on January 7, after she was shot by a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent during an ongoing immigration crackdown.
Sortor said more steps should taken, as tensions between pro and anti-ICE demonstrators continue to mount.
He also claimed that the group the woman belonged to had been following him and his team for the entire day.
'DHS MUST RAID THIS PLACE!' he raged, after having the camera ripped from his hands in a struggle mostly obscured by his car.
In the replies, Sortor shared an image of his injured hand.
The incident happened in Cedar Riverside, a neighborhood with a large Somali-American presence, he added.

But Cam Higby is a "conservative journalist." Why isn't Sortor also a journalist? He does a million times better than the MSM people who went to J-School for years to learn nothing but how to hew to the commie agitprop.

So is “$1000 camera” supposed to be showing that this popular “influencer” is running his on a shoestring budget, or something else? Depending on the lens that I have attached to it... my 25-year-old Sony Alpha SLT-A65V is still worth more than a $1000.
Are people are so enamored with smart phones with cameras that they have no idea that a $1000 camera with a detachable lens is entry level at best? If you go to Amazon and search for “Sony Camera” or “Nikon Camera” most of the search results are going to be $2000 to $3000. Even if you are on a budget and search for a “Canon Camera” only the lower tiers such as an APS-C Rebel, R50 or R100 are under $1000.
So, I am just not quite sure how to react to the “$1000 camera” description... I am assuming that he didn’t bring expensive gear with him because he was afraid that something like this could happen.
