I’ve been to Shanghai. It IS beautiful, and they did manage to dramatically reduce their air pollution. The Chinese rebuilt that city in its entirety, tearing down ALL of the old buildings and building with modern designs. They included nice green spaces about the city. The subway system is gorgeous; and, no young beautiful girls have had her throat slit while in transit.
