How are American big cities Chicago, LA, New York City etc doing on the livability scales?
They are some of the worst places on the planet to live, with their high murder rates, high taxation etc.

Fascinating article. I would never live in a city, even a smaller one. Remote work might solve a lot of the problems associated with crowding people together like this.

It wasn’t always!! Chicago (is /Was) a WORLD CLASS CITY! I was born and raised there. Breathe taking and safe and interesting.I ran for Congress in the 5th Congressional district. At 56 yrs old, I left in 2012. Now when I return,I see the decline. I remember the day Chicago was safe. I rode my 10 speed up and down Lake Shore Drive,I remember large family gatherings at Lawreys Prime Rib on the Magnificent Mile. I saw movies at Water Tower place in Downtown Chicago and got out of the movie at 11pm, walked to my car, not a care in the world. NOW?? WELL NOT ANYMORE!!
