I dont know what they were buying but Turkey, potatoes, eggs were incredibly cheap here and milk was about the same.

I bought a 3 lb. Pork Sirloin Roast for $7.99 last week, and it has made me and my wife five meals since then, with one more to go. Today, I can get a whole chicken for $1.49 a lb. Thing is, you can eat affordably if you decide to look around to eat affordably. These people at the NYT, and Miami Rebel and people like she/he/it are not intent on conveying information. It it were, the Jackass Freeper might well not act as a mouthpiece for the NYT, posting it with no comment at all.
As for the NYT, they need no explanation other than the one provided by FReeper Robert DeLong at Post #18 to know where they come from.
