Agreed. The confusing thing is that they say to eat more saturated fat, but they also kept the recommendation to keep saturated fat under 10% of calories. And Americans are already averaging like 12-13%. It also deemphasizes fiber intake which is crucial for GI health and which as many Americans are deficient in as excessive in protein.
So, regardless of whether the guidance on saturated fat intake is good, bad, or anywhere in between, it simply doesn’t make any sense.

Odd. I’ve been on close to a zero fiber diets for decades and have no GI issues. Very regular, colonoscopy found nothing to worry about.
