Yes, that fight was reportedly over Chase mocking Murray’s acne scars... which is an incredibly juvenile form of mockery more appropriate to 9th graders than to grown men.
SNL's humor (in the 1970s and 80s) was sometimes absurdist, sometimes highbrow - and very frequently juvenile.
And Bill Murray's take on Panamanian dictator Manuel "Pineapple Face" Noriega was legendary!
