Just for clarity though it predates communism by several millenia. Whether Japan/Okinawa, Normans/English, ancient Egyptians/Jews, take your pick. Job #1 of creating a serf or slave group is to disarm them so that the oppressor can do things that the oppressed ought to kill them for.
As the Founders recognized (but didn’t invent), that’s contrary to the Creator’s desire for us. The 2A only recognizes the fact that we’re created for freedom and freedom includes being able to say ‘no’ to tyrants.
