It’s clear to me based on the videos that she was turning away from the officers, and the officer continued to shoot when he was well off to the side of the vehicle. Maybe body cam footage will provide a fuller picture that fits the officer’s story. Either way, it’s a bad look. Police across the country are trained specifically not to respond like this.
From the photos I have seen the bullet to the head was straight into the windshield from the front of the vehicle not the side, whatever happened after that doesn’t mean much
A good point. Also, if the ICE agent had not shot, what would the outcome have been? It seems she was trying to get away rather than hit anyone.
You are totally misinformed. She was moving towards a federal law enforcement officer. What she was doing in the area was not a protest. You do not use a car in the road as a form of protest. She was a threat pure and simple. She got what she deserved for acting stupid.
Several years ago there was a shooting like this in the Tri Cities in Washington. The perp had been chased from Richland into Kennewick where he pulled into a parking lot and stopped. An officer on a motorcycle parked his bike within inches of the rear bumper, while other officers were standing near the drivers door yelling at him to stop and shut off his car. The guy put it in park and the car rocked backwards and bumped tge tire of the motorcycle.
The motorcycle officer then fired 3 rounds that hit the left roof pillar, then he walked up to the driver’s window and shot him the driver several times even though the the other officers standing close to the driver never reacted to bumping incident.
It was ruled justified.
